Over five hundred Vancouver area-residents participated in a June 2011 Facebook-based public discussion about the City of Vancouver’s Transportation Plan update.

On Tuesday September 20, 2011, the City’s Transportation 2040 team will be reporting to council with a summary of results from the spring and summer public consultations. Send your thoughts on the issue to the Mayor and Councillors by emailing mayorandcouncil@vancouver.ca

Attend the meeting in person on September 20 at 9:30 am in the Council Chamber, Third Floor, City Hall. If you wish to speak (5 minutes max) contact Terri Burke at 604.871.6399, by 1:00 pm on Monday, September 19, 2011. Or, you can watch the webcast. After the meeting, catch a summary of results by reading the minutes, which will be posted approximately two days following the meeting.

What’s next? The Transportation 2040 team will be working hard over the fall to develop a draft Transportation Plan. In early in 2012, the City will invite discussion, debate and feedback on specific proposals to make sure they get the plan right, before it is presented to Vancouver City Council in the summer of 2012.
